We will always act to protect your privacy even if you provide a written release to share information about yourself, and you may direct me to share information with whomever you choose. Additionally, you can change your mind and revoke that permission at any time. There are three cases where we are legally required to breach confidentiality. We are legally required by law to notify you that we will break confidentiality if any of the following conditions are met:
Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which we are required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
If you are threatening serious bodily harm to another person(s), we must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
If you intend to harm yourself, we will make every effort to enlist your cooperation in ensuring your safety.
